Today it is easier than ever to create the bathroom of your dreams in Connecticut at a fraction of the expected price. Most homeowners want everything new and are blind to the fact by changing your bathrooms existing fixtures, wall color and art or shower curtains and window treatments you can create a new look and style to your existing bathroom. Even the simplest bathroom has the opportunity for big improvements without a large investment.

The most important consideration when planning to remodel your bathroom is moisture. Moisture can create many problems, but there have been major developments in building materials that can handle ongoing exposure to dampness and water, such as green board. Green board is a water-resistant drywall, and the water-repellent cement-based products for wet locations.

The smallest to largest bathrooms can benefit from generous lighting. The right light can defer from sconces and fixtures to create subtle mood lighting.

Changing the bathroom floor can change the entire look of your bathroom. Ceramic tile is certainly the most favorable, but not the only choice for bathroom flooring. Other popular and affordable choices are wood, stone, and vinyl.

The larger pieces, such as vintage or painted cabinet vanity, easily set the tone as a focal point and create a classic feel. Instead of a traditional acrylic sink, a vanity serves as another piece of furniture in your home. The sink can make a dramatic edition to any bathroom, with materials such as glass or granite. Hardware, such as sink and tub fixtures, come in a large array of designs,  styles and finishes.

Replacing a shower is no longer limited to a fiberglass unit with a bathtub. With proper and effective waterproofing, eye-catching tiles can be installed. This will create the look and feel of a spa in your home.

If you choose the option of a separate bathtub, there is the option of an oriental soaking tub. These tubs are larger in size and provide extra relaxation than the standard bathtub. These tubs include features of aromatherapy or chromatherapy for added relaxation.

Once the renovations are done, the way you decorate your bathroom is only limited by your own imagination. Your bathroom is yours and it represents you, so take the time and really make a statement.
