HRAC Code of Ethics


 HRAC members vow not to:

  • Engage in deceptive advertising practices, misrepresenting the nature of products and services they offer, sell or perform.

  • Engage in false promotional practices. They shall work under a fair pricing policy and honor coupons, discounts and promotions offered.

  • Falsely represent a person as a manufacturer's representative, an outside government agency, or any third party authority for the purpose of authenticating a promise.

  • Imitate trade marks, names, labels, brands or use other deceptive words to mislead the customers.

  • Engage in defamation of a competitor or his product through false claims or conduct.

  • Present false statements to circumvent the carrying of workers' compensation and liability insurance.

  • Induce an employee of a competitor to divulge client information.

  • Circumvent licensing and/or registration of local, state or federal governments. HRAC members shall abide by Federal, State and Local laws and codes, and be always properly certified, bonded and insured.

  • Utilize pushy or unethical sales practices, which include misrepresenting the nature of the job to be performed, its urgency, time frame and pricing.

  • Make false claims or promises during the sales, inspection and estimate process in order to close the deal.

  • Produce unclear, incomplete or ambiguous service estimates and contracts with the purpose of misleading customers.

  • HRAC members shall make sure the customers understand and agree with all the terms of the contract, and inform them of their rights under Federal, State and Local Laws, which includes the local version of the Federal Trade Commission's Cooling Off Rule.
